Heat pumps capture and convert outdoor air to a higher temperature while requiring less than a third of the power of a direct electric heated air curtain. This makes it cheaper to run. Thermoscreen and Mitsubishi Electric hope their range of heat pump-driven air curtains will tap into an estimated £20m air curtain market. The new range was developed as one of many solutions designed to meet Mitsubishi's Green Gateway initiative aimed at reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions.
