Airedale designs and manufactures an extensive range of air
conditioning products for an international market and is part of the
Modine group of companies. Founded in 1974, Airedale has grown to
become a prominent leader in the research, design and manufacture of
an impressive range of energy efficient, intelligent cooling
solutions. Airedale boasts a 25,000m² manufacturing facility and
£2.5 million test centre in Leeds, UK, which is widely regarded as a
centre of excellence for air conditioning. Recent research and
innovative development has focused specifically on carbon reduction
and increased energy efficiency technologies to ensure that whole
life costs and the environmental effects of all Airedale products
are reduced substantially.

Since
van Spall Associates first introduced Adiabatic Dry Coolers to the
market, some twenty years ago, virtually every Dry Cooler
manufacturer now offers an Adiabatic package. It is prudent to be
aware that after due consultation with the Health & Safety
Executive, several Local Authorities including Westminster Council
and the Corporation of London, van Spall Associates have
incorporated a number of features to ensure compliance with Health &
Safety requirements. These features are:- The spray water is
introduced into the incoming air stream and is not directed over the
coil, All spray water is passed through an ultra-violet disinfection
system, On cessation of the spraying cycle, all water in the spray
pipework system is automatically drained, Should the ultra-violet
lamp fail, the spray system is automatically shut down until the
ultra-violet lamp is replaced. Once replaced, the spray system will
recommence, if required. There is no water held in retention or
carried through to the air discharge. van Spall Associates Ltd offer
a complete range of air blast dry coolers for sealed water cooling
systems and a 'one stop shop' solution for all your cooling needs.
Sealed systems provide contaminant free cooling for
air-conditioning, power generation, compressor and process cooling
applications. van Spall standard cooler configurations include: Flat
bed horizontal ABC 44 sizes, Flat bed vertical ABC 44 sizes, 'V'
block SVD 20 sizes & 'V' block DVVD 28 sizes. Centrifugal fan models
CABC for ultra-quiet and indoor-ducted applications are also
available. Custom 'specials' can be designed and manufactured as
part of our 'one stop shop' cooling solutions service. van Spall air
blast dry coolers feature the following benefits: Contaminant free
cooling circuit, No water treatment required, Low noise levels, Low
operating costs, No discharge 'pluming', No chlorination required &
Minimal maintenance.

Guntner
Dry Coolers - As with the condensers, our dry air coolers are finned
heat exchangers. Used to reject heat from air conditioning plant
chillers, water cooled variable refrigerant flow units, Versatemp
air conditioning equipment and a variety of other applications, they
cool the water/glycol mix in a closed circuit by passing ambient air
over the finned surfaces. Dry Air Coolers are mainly used in lieu of
wet systems i.e. as a replacement to cooling towers. Dry Air Coolers
come in various shapes and sizes ranging from the small 1m length
coolers to a truck size 13m. They are preferred by most consultants
and end users due to their low profile, low noise and ease of
installation. In addition they have no legionnaires risk as they are
dry systems. All dry air coolers are suitable for outdoor
applications, however, special centrifugal dry air coolers are
designed for use indoors and in plant rooms. Our Dry Cooler range
includes the following: Flatbed Dry Cooler, V Coil Dry cooler &
centrifugal fan Dry cooler for indoor applications. Adiabatic Dry
Coolers - Guntner offer a standard factory fitted adiabatic option
which comprises a series of specialized water nozzles fitted below
each fan. The nozzles are designed to pulverize the water and
provide a very fine mist of atomised water droplets which are
readily absorbed by the high temperature ambient air approaching the
coil. The effect of introducing saturated air onto the coil
lowers the theoretical dry bulb temperature and increases the total
heat rejection from the dry cooler at high ambient conditions. The
use of Adiabatic Dry Coolers is particularly beneficial where space
is limited, or where the condenser water temperatures are low. Free
cooling may also be enhanced with the adiabatic option. The spray is
designed for use during the limited number of days in the UK when
the ambient temperatures are high, and is generally enabled by an
ambient thermostat and return water temperature thermostat. The
spray requires mains water at approximately 2 - 3 bar pressure and
considerate of the water consumption, units are not designed for all
year round use.
