Viessmann
are strong believers in renewable energy and have developed a number
of innovative solutions from solar to ground sourced heat pumps.
Ground source heat pumps extract latent solar energy from the earth,
generating 4kW of energy for every 1kW. Viessmann have three main
ground source heat pumps, the Vitocal 200 is idea for low energy
homes, and has a closed loop system to redirect any lost or wasted
heat back into the system for optimum performance. The Vitocal 300
is designed for a high operational output, even during cold external
temperatures with an integral weather compensating digital heating
circuit, cooling function and diagnostic system, capable of
achieving temperatures up to 58°C.
Mitsubishi have developed two modules for highly efficient, ground
source heat pumps. The WR2 and WY series systems can be used as both
heat pumps and heat recovery units. The WR2 has an inverter drive to
optimise the energy wasted, as well as generated, recirculation the
excess heat back through into the system and uses it to heat rooms
that require it. The Mitsubishi ground source heat pumps are
Government listed as an effective and and reliable source of energy
and can be linked to other systems effectively using and
storing energy within the earths surface.
Colt
have developed the WRF (water and refrigerant flow) system to work
alongside water and ground source heat pumps. The ground source work
as part of a system, wherein there are three main modules, the
indoor, exterior and neutral systems. When used as a ground source
heat pump the WRF can increase its efficiency using building mass
and reservoir water as a heat sink. These systems can also work
individually, with one component failing the unit is not compromised
and continues to run. The combination of using an internal and
external system allows Colt units to work together to generate low
noise, high output energy at a reduced cost.
